Athlete from Kolomyia Polina Kalnyk won the bronze medal at the World Weightlifting Championships among boys and girls under 17.

Polina Kalnyk successfully performed at the U17 World Weightlifting Championships, becoming a bronze medalist in the 77 kg weight category. According to the results of the combined event, the Kolomyia athlete gained 199 kg, which brought her third place at the world championship.
In addition to the bronze in the overall standings, the athlete won a gold medal in the clean and jerk, with a result of 112 kilograms. In the snatch, Polina showed a result of 87 kilograms and finished the performance in fifth place.
The World Championship among athletes under 17 was held in the Colombian city of Cali from July 5 to 11. Polina Kalnyk represented the city of Kolomyia and the Youth Sports School No. 2 of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council at the competitions.
